HOW DOCTORS CAN SPOT WHEN YOU'RE FAKING AN ILLNESS
1. Over-exaggerating of symptoms that are not correlating with the clinical picture and history that is being told. “This is a suspicious sign”, according to Dr Shaikh.
2. A sick certificate around public holidays or long weekends is often very suspicious.
3. Asking for more days to be added-on to the already initiated medical certificate always renders suspicion.
4. A patient that refuses certain medications/procedures that would otherwise benefit the ailments of which she/he complains of. A good example of this are blood tests to rule out other causes.
