- Menstrual irregularities: If you are experiencing irregular periods, such as heavy or prolonged bleeding, missed periods, or severe menstrual cramps, it may be indicative of an underlying health issue. Consult a gynecologist or healthcare provider to evaluate and address the cause of the irregularities.
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS): PCOS is a hormonal disorder that can lead to irregular periods, excessive hair growth, acne, and weight gain. If you are experiencing these symptoms, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and management options.
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs): Frequent and painful urination, along with a strong urge to urinate, may indicate a UTI. Seeking medical attention promptly is crucial to prevent complications and obtain appropriate treatment with antibiotics.
- Vaginal infections: Symptoms like unusual vaginal discharge, itching, burning, or an unpleasant odor could indicate a vaginal infection, such as a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. Consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment options.
- Pelvic pain: Persistent or recurring pain in the pelvic region can have various causes, including endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or ovarian cysts. Seek medical advice to identify the underlying cause and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
- Breast health concerns: Breast pain, lumps, changes in breast size or shape, or nipple discharge should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Regular breast self-exams and mammograms (as recommended by your doctor) are crucial for early detection of breast conditions, including breast cancer.
- Osteoporosis: Women are more prone to osteoporosis, a condition characterized by weak and brittle bones, particularly after menopause. Speak with a healthcare provider about bone density screenings, calcium and vitamin D intake, weight-bearing exercises, and other preventive measures.
- Pregnancy-related issues: Concerns during pregnancy may include morning sickness, gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, or complications. Regular prenatal care and open communication with your healthcare provider are essential to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
- Mental health conditions: Women may experience mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, or eating disorders. Seeking professional help from therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists can provide the necessary support and treatment.
- Sexual health concerns: Painful intercourse, low libido, or difficulties achieving orgasm can impact a woman’s sexual health. Openly discussing these concerns with a healthcare professional, gynecologist, or sexual health specialist can lead to appropriate interventions and improved sexual well-being.

We offer pap smears as a screening test for cervical cancer. Usually we offer
this test after the age of 30, unless you are living with HIV. In this case the test
can be done sooner.
The risk for breast cancer increases as women age, therefore women
over the age of 40 should have an annual screening mammogram, and
women over the age of 55 should have a mammogram every 2 years.
There are certain risk factors which may lead to the need for a more
frequent screening mammogram if you are over 55, your doctor will
discuss this with you.
In addition to this, please visit our rooms if you notice any changes in
your breasts with regards to size, shape, presence of lumps, skin changes
or a nipple discharge.
